What this engagement offers

A framework that fits around your life, not the other way around

The most useful guidance around food and movement is rarely the most comprehensive. It's the kind that accounts for how you actually live — what you cook, when you eat, where you're likely to find ten minutes to stretch or walk.

Over six weeks and four sessions, we build a flexible weekly framework together. Not a rigid plan, but a set of patterns that can be reached for on busy days and expanded on quieter ones.

At the close of the engagement, a printed reference is delivered — something to keep on hand rather than something to remember perfectly.

What often gets in the way

Nutrition and movement advice that doesn't quite land

Much of what's written about eating well and moving regularly assumes conditions that aren't always present — a consistent schedule, a preference for cooking from scratch every evening, a gym membership and the time to use it.

When advice doesn't account for your actual constraints, even well-intentioned suggestions can become a source of mild guilt rather than useful guidance.

Traditional Japanese food culture has a particular richness to draw from: seasonal ingredients, considered portions, the role of fermented foods, and an approach to eating that tends toward balance rather than restriction. These aren't ideas to import wholesale, but they offer a useful reference point.

Movement suggestions in this engagement favour walking, mobility work, and short home practices — things that don't require a dedicated block of time to be worth doing.

How this engagement works

Four conversations, one flexible framework

Each of the four sessions has its own focus, but the pace is set by you throughout. We review current patterns first, then talk through preferences and constraints, before assembling something workable together.

Session one — Where things stand

A detailed look at current eating and movement patterns without judgment. We note what's working, what feels effortful, and where preferences lie.

Session two — Preferences and constraints

We explore what you actually enjoy eating and doing, and where the real constraints are — time, energy, access, and preference all factor in equally.

Session three — Building the framework

Together we sketch a flexible weekly structure — not a meal plan, but a set of patterns and gentle defaults to reach for when decisions feel harder.

Session four — Reviewing and settling

We revisit what's been tried, adjust anything that hasn't quite fitted, and refine the written reference before it's delivered in its final form.

What working together looks like

Six weeks that move at your pace

Sessions are scheduled at intervals that suit you within the six-week window. There's no fixed weekly cadence to maintain — the engagement moves at a rhythm that feels manageable alongside everything else.

Between sessions, you try things in your own way. There's no reporting requirement, no log to keep. What you notice between meetings naturally shapes the next conversation.

The movement suggestions in this engagement deliberately avoid anything that requires a particular time commitment or location. Walking that fits within routes you already take, mobility work you can do in a small space, short home practices that don't need equipment.

The underlying approach respects that a full life already contains many demands on time and energy. The goal is to find what can be woven in, not what needs to be added on top.

Who this is well-suited for

This engagement works well for anyone who feels that their relationship with food and daily movement has drifted, or who has tried to make changes before but found generic advice difficult to apply to their actual life.

It suits those who appreciate the food traditions of Japan and would like guidance that builds from that cultural context rather than overlaying a different one.

No prior knowledge of nutrition or wellness is needed. The engagement begins wherever you are.

A realistic sense of the process

What to expect across six weeks

Weeks 1–2

Looking and listening

The first two sessions focus on understanding what's already present. This includes current patterns, preferences, and the shape of the week. Nothing is changed at this stage.

Weeks 3–4

Building and trying

The third session assembles the framework. The period between sessions three and four is when you try things in your own way, without pressure to report or record anything.

Weeks 5–6

Refining and settling

The final session reviews what's fitted and what hasn't. The printed reference is refined and delivered. By this point, a few things tend to have taken hold naturally.

Our commitment to you

Your pace, your preferences, throughout

The pace across six weeks is set by you. If something suggested in a session doesn't feel right for your life, the next session is the right place to say so — and the framework adjusts accordingly.

The printed reference is a living document in the sense that it's shaped by four sessions of real conversation. It won't include anything that hasn't been discussed and considered in the context of your actual situation.

If you'd like to write in before committing to ask a few questions, that's a very reasonable first step. We'll respond without any expectation of a booking following.
